Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actor. Also, she sings. Her mom raised her in the USA and she was subject to many racial taunts that caused her to feel as someone who was not wanted. When she was in 9th grade she felt more secure after being acknowledged by her teachers as a success for singing at a school's audition. The experience not only increased her confidence, but it was also a change in the direction of her career. When she was 22, she graduated from New York's Julliard School. She began her career at age 23 with Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and You've Got Mail in film. Her biggest breakthrough was when she appeared in the role in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot receiving not just her the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. Her fame grew for her appearance on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. The actress is also a renowned singer and has published an extended version of her play. Also, she's an activist and fights in the fight for LGBT rights.
